I was hired to photograph someone’s 50th birthday celebration dinner a few weeks back. While I can’t show you any of the ‘people’ shots, I did get a few images of the table settings that I really liked.
The dining room was almost completely dark, so I used on-camera bounce flash to create the appearance of a soft, off-camera light source. The moody lighting and subject matter remind me a little of Rembrandt’s still-life paintings. These were all shot on film of course!
Nikon F100, Kodak Portra 400 film, SB-28 flash.
My ‘detail’ shots at weddings look just as nice! Come see my wedding photography here.
