Nikki & Daniel’s Wedding (Ojai, California)

Nikki and Daniel’s Ojai wedding! Their story follows the images…

Nikki and Daniel had a church wedding, followed by a reception at the bride’s parents’ house. It was filled with friends and family, and laughter and joy. Just what a wedding should be all about!

That last shot was taken at the bus stop where Daniel first proposed to Nikki, and it figured prominently in their engagement photo session as well. We made a special trip over there after the ceremony, and brought some luggage to say “bon voyage!”

Church: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (Ojai, CA)

Flowers: Shell’s Petals (Ventura, CA)

Makeup: Cara Mia

Hair: Margie Mohun

Cake: Mary Rose Short

Dress Shop: Camarillo Bridal (Camarillo, CA)

Technical details: Outdoor color film was Kodak Portra 400. Color film inside the church was either Kodak Portra 800 (pushed one stop), or Kodak Vision3 500T movie film (pushed one stop). Black and white film was either Ilford XP2 (pushed two stops) or Ilford Delta 3200 (at box speed).

Square images were taken on a Yashica-Mat twin lens reflex camera. All other images were taken using a Mamiya 645AF or Nikon F100.

  2. Hi Matt! First of all, congrats to the newly weds – Nikki and Mike 🙂 They seem really happy and I wish them well. I believe this is the first time I came across this blog and I like what I’m seeing so far. I’m no expert and I’m not familiar to terms. However, I do have a deep interest for photography. The natural feel of your photos are splendid. I’ll definitely come back here to see more of what you have to share.
