Inspiration Bridal Shoot at Orcutt Ranch (Canoga Park, CA)

The story follows the images…

Am I The Right Wedding Photographer For You?

An inspirational bridal shoot at a historic ranch in the Los Angeles area, with vintage-styled dress and gorgeous bouquet! I even brought out a couple of 50 year old cameras to keep with the vintage wedding theme.

venue: Orcutt Ranch

photographer: Matt Haines

hair and makeup: JaNice Estrada

florist: Michelle Hirrel/Shell’s Petals

dress designer: Pepsi Herrera

Shoes: Steve Madden

Model: Tammy Cheng

Technical notes: the color images were shot on a Mamiya 645AF, with either an 80mm f/2.8 lens, or a 150mm f/3.5 lens. The square black and white images were shot on a Yashica-Mat twin-lens reflex camera. The rectangular ones were shot on an Ansco Plenax PB20 folding bellows camera (click those links to see what they look like). Color film was Kodak Portra 400, and the black and white was Ilford XP2.

  1. Lovely shots – really like the one with the model walking by the brick pillars and looking down – just goes to show what can be achieved with medium format film. I still have my Mamiya 645 Super kit and my old Yashica-Mat (can’t bear to get rid of it!).

  2. Thanks Nic! I find that medium format cameras are best off when they get used. Pop some film in them! 🙂

  3. The see-through gown is absolutely gorgeous!!! I’ve never seen one before, to be honest, and never thought it could still look as decent as it is. And I love the black and white photo where you can see her sexy silhouette. 😀
